Another day, and another warning from a top Reagan official, old-line conservative Paul Craig Roberts, a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury who wrote a column on Counterpunch.org about how if Bush and Cheney are not IMPEACHED now, we could be facing a police state in 2008.
Roberts said that because of Bush's unpopularity, the Republicans face a total wipeout in 2008, and this may be why "the Democrats have not brought a halt to Bush's follies or the war, because they expect his unpopular policies to provide them with a landslide victory in next year's election."
However, Roberts emphasized, "the problem with this reasoning is that it assumes that Cheney and Rove and the Republicans are ignorant of these facts, or it assumes that they are content for the Republican Party to be destroyed after Bush has his fling." Roberts believes instead that Cheney and Rove intend to use a renewal of the War on Terror to rally the American people around the Republican Party. "Something's in the works," he said, adding that the Executive Orders need to create a police state are already in place.
"The administration figures themselves and prominent Republican propagandists ... are preparing us for another 9/11 event or series of events," Roberts continued. "Chertoff has predicted them. ... The National Intelligence Estimate is saying that al Qaeda has regrouped. ... You have to count on the fact that if al Qaeda's not going to do it, it's going to be orchestrated. ... The Republicans are praying for another 9/11."
Thom Hartmann has done yet another great job at throwing up red flags as to what is happening in this country.

Bruce Fein, a conservative scholar who wrote the articles of impeachment for President Clinton wants Bush Impeached. I was watching CNN today and they showed a clip of a man asking the President some very important questions. This poor man was visibly shaking but still had the strength to ask his questions even tho Bush sheep were booing him. I won't get started on the sheep that booed the man, but I did want to say I was pleasantly surprised that the President allowed him to ask his question. Sadly enough, I was not surprised at all that the President did the same thing he does everytime he's confronted with these questions.
HE LIES!
This man, our President can not be honest, nor tell the truth. He's a robot! It's a cult of personality, and it's sad this man can not give an honest answer, nor think for himself.
"I feel like despite your rhetoric, that compassion and common sense have been left far behind during your administration," Taylor said, standing in a balcony seat and looking down at Bush on stage. "And I would hope from time to time that you have the humility and grace to be ashamed of yourself."
Bush defended the National Security Administration's surveillance program, saying he authorized the program to protect the country.
"You said would I apologize for that?" Bush told him. "The answer is absolutely not."
Well, of course he isn't sorry, ethics are not a part of this mans vocabulary. You know what my friends and I do for FUN these days? We say trigger words over the phone because we know that these assholes are listening in on us and overstepping the law and are stepping all over our civil rights. We just want these jerks to mess up with ONE person! ONE real American citizen that has NOTHING to do with TERROR.
It's like we're talking till we are blue in the face, but the truth is, some people are waking up from their propagandized sleep, and seeing that this man is more of a crook than Nixon EVER was.
And what about this crap that Democrats don't have any good ideas?! OMG I will not even touch that tonight. Argh, well at least they aren't ripping off the American public, lying to them, and fleecing America.

I just finished watching Larry King and he had four radio hosts on. Liberal hosts, Ed Schulz and Randi Rhodes were on with a couple of conservative hosts, Hugh Hewitt and Martha Zoller.
I gotta say, I am dissapointed with both sides. Randi Rhodes was kinda rude to Martha Zoller. On one hand, Zoller was doing the Republican talking points thing, and invoking 9/11, and pretty much being insulting to everyones intelligence, but, poking back at her rudely was just not something I like to see my liberal hosts project. Ed also interrupted her, and she said, "I didn't interrupt you", and she didn't, then Ed responds with, actually you did. In that instance, she did NOT interrupt Ed.
Ugh, this is ugly on both sides, until Ed did that to Zoller, he impressed me the most. These two conservatives are hacks imo, spousing out invocations of 9/11 and pushing Republican talking points that we've heard before. They have nothing new to offer and they absolutely are lying about half of what they say. It's all a word game to them because they know people simply tend to believe what they hear if they hear it often enough. If it were not for Ed and Randi, then most people would be left to believe the crap they are spewing.
However, to keep it short, they could have used more tact and had not been so damn ugly about it on Larry's show. I just wanted to post my thoughts on this, because while I think that what they do is important, they being, liberal hosts, I also believe when they do stupid shite like this, it gives the other side more credibility.
I'm thirty years young, and for my short life, I can remember at any given time knowing at least one illegal alien. I've known many, and I see why they are desperate to come to the US for jobs.
The debate on immigration is crazy, because all sides pretty much want safer borders, it's just how to go about it. I am a liberal, but I do have some conservative values, I admit that. So, it should be no surprise that I'm perplexed by this issue.
First and foremost, I prefer to be for people. Mankind if you will, comes first before anything. So, saying that, I'd be against any type of bill that would automatically make 11,000,000 illegal immigrants felons. That type of action would be morally wrong in my opinion. Where is the humanity when it comes to those who don't care about living and breathing people on this issue?
I listened to Democracy Now! today and heard a few protesting students voice their concern about their parents being deported and they themselves and friends being left parentless in America while their parents get deported. I think this would be a travesty personally. Just a moment ago, I saw a person on CNN say that we can't be held responsible for the parents mistakes. Mistakes? They came here for work and to make something out of their lives. Some are so dire, this is their last chance to make it, or save their family. Another on Democracy Now! said that the students should be in school learning.
WOW, amazing. These are people right? They do play an important role in our communities doing jobs that you and I do not want to do, do they not? Well, there needs to be a solution that accomodates current immigrants and us as a nation. Then, allow different rules that must be upheld in the future towards new immigrants.
I'm not an expert here, but I have this thing for other people who actually live and breathe as I do. Simply because they are of another nationality other than mine, and/or in a different, much poorer class, does not make me or anyone else any better.
We are a nation built of immigrants, I myself have family that at the very least were not only Native American Indians, as I learned a couple years ago, but even Europeans, or Germans, English, and who knows what else in my bloodline. Other than Native American, the others were immigrants.
Hopefully we will overcome this issue and save alot of people alot of pain and suffering. After that, we need to get back to business and take to task some of the things that have been happening to us as a nation, such as the food bill that was passed a few weeks ago and NSA wiretapping on Americans, not to mention Iraq.
It is true. This liberal minded person, who is easily middle left, has a favorite Republican Conservative that I'd actually LOVE to see run for President.
Who is that Conservative?
Well most of the people on the right, when they see this, I believe they'd know. In my opinion, my favorite Conservative is kinda like the rights favorite Democrat, Joe Lieberman.
I don't agree with Lou on EVERYTHING, however, he is my favorite Conservative when it comes to telling the truth! He openly talks about immigration, lobbyists and the corporations that employ them. He sees this administration for what it is and does not go along with the right wing conservative agenda.
I have always wanted to say something about Lou on my site. I don't know much about Lou, but I do catch his show frequently on CNN. For the longest time, I didn't even notice the pin on his lapel, and I did not know his political affiliation. All I knew was, I like this guy! He is saying exactly everything I feel!
Now, I believe the words Conservative and Liberal and just about everything right and left have been blurred. Either you are far right, or far left. Republican or Democrat. I am an Indepent, who believes there should be three or more major parties personally, but this blurring of the lines is happening mostly with radio versions of both Conservative and Liberal shows who are stressing one viewpoint over the other. It just so happens that while Lou won't agree with me religiously I'm sure, he does happen to share my thoughts with the destruction of the US by corporations hellbent to suck us dry for every last penny we have.
Lou is the only Conservative Republican I can stand, because he actually STANDS for something and CARES about the American people.
TO HELL with corporations in my opinion. Why is it that big money has more representation in congress and at the White House than the American people do?
Anywho.... I digress... I ramble, please excuse me.
If Lou ran for president today, I would most definitely vote for him based off of what I know him to be, which is intelligent and viciously honest.
Lou, thank you for not pandering to the right and for understanding the plight of the American people. We do appreciate it. You give Conservatives and Republicans a good name.

I won't be able to help but be preachy, but this movie in itself is a message for our time. No doubt, will it be called propaganda and a film that possibly promotes terrorism from the right. This movie in NO way promotes terrorism. In fact, if you look up the definition... well, let's look it up...

Phew, now that I got that out of the way, thanks to Dictionary.com. I believe this movie highlights exactly what is happening in America with corporate media and a government that has used the far right to achieve it's dominance in politics and push it's agenda.
This movie a period movie in my opinion. It means more for this generation of Americans and other worldly nations alike than any other before. No other time in history can I remember any people being able to view a movie such as this while this actual subject matter was being propagated against them. My hope is this movie will wake people up and get them to realize that it is important that they pay attention to politics at home and do not allow FEAR to take hold and thus allow the governments to infringe on their freedoms and liberties.
Before I had understood what this movie was about, I saw a thirty second spot on Tucker Carlson, via CNN posing the question... Do you believe V for Vendetta promotes terrorism. This is EXACTLY what the movie is pointing out! Now, I didn't watch that show because I had to go to work, but, at the same time, the very act of posing the question in that way, was exactly the point!
They say that the pen is mightier than the sword. However, it's proven, that when people are afraid, they want to be protected. At what cost are you willing to live? I for one believe that people need to wake up and smell the coffee. This November, Americans need to speak out and kick the republicans out of office. This country is dying from the inside out, and only we the people can save it.
One more time, take a close look at one of the definitions of terrorism.

My favorite everything passed away today. Don Knotts passed away today at 81.
As a kid, Don Knotts was everywhere, and was by far my favorite thing about The Andy Griffith Show and Three's Company. I also loved his movies, which included The Incredible Mr. Limpet, Herbie The Lovebug, and the Apple Dumpling Gang.
I'm going to miss you Don, I wish you could have found the fountain of youth and made more entertaining shows and movies for us.
